“ Great spot on the water that during the day might have been better than evening. However the staff were great and the food was delicious, with a very varied menu to please all. My poppy seed pancake stack with berry compote, mascarpone and lemon curd was amazing and topped off my duck breast main course perfectly. ”
“ Not only is the food here awesome, the views at sunset is spectacular too. No misses here. Best buffalo wings we had. Very authentic flavours with tender juicy wings. Garlic bread was unique too. Crispy outside & soft inside. Fish & chips was the best we had in South Australia so far. For the “hungry hippo”, the Big D burger is the answer. Juicy & thick double beef patty cooked to medium well with onion rings & fries. The Kale salad with fried cheese was very delicious too. Kudos to the chef. ”
“ Highly recommend......We had dinner here on Monday night, we both ordered the Seafood Deluxe and it was superb. Seafood was very fresh and cooked perfectly. They are even dog friendly. We sat outside on the deck with our little spoodle and they even put the outdoor heater on for us. ”

“ Just amazing!! We booked a table for two people at 12:30. Food came out so quick. We got cheesy garlic bread (perfect for 4 people) and it was just the two of us. Delicious!! For the main we both had the Southern Fried Chicken. Chicken was juicy and coleslaw was fresh, bun warmed to perfection. Chips perfectly salted. Staff were fantastic. So inviting and lovely. We have never been here before, but we know we will be returning soon. People running food and behind bar were always switched on and always smiling. 10/10, definitely recommend!! ”
“ As regular travellers to the district we were looking for somewhere to dine that we hadn't been before. Google maps suggested the Islanders Tavern so off we set. Nice clean establishment with indoor and outdoor eating. Outdoor areas are dog friendly. Staff were helpful and cheerful. We settled on 3 entrees which came out quickly. Each was well presented and delicious. I highly recommend the buffalo wings which are tasty without being overly spicy. I had the cocktail on special which was amazing; sadly I've forgotten it's name. So take the drive, sit back and enjoy the view and some amazing food. ”
“ Thank you to all the staff for an absolutely awesome environment. We took my elderly Mum to the Tavern for her 88th birthday as she had never been before. We had a table of 6 and were informed a large table was about to order so suggested we ordered soon. Our 16 year old grandson was in heaven with the buffalo wings and pork ribs. Fully loaded garlic bread is bloody awesome and everything else was just perfect. Service by all just amazing but Charlie needs a special mention. We JUST love this Tavern. “ Great spot on Hindmarsh Island overlooking the water. Food is typical pub food with a bit of a sense of adventure. I had the Duck Breast - perfectly cooked with a crispy pave and greens. The Gluten Free Calamari was melt in the mouth. Drinks are extremely well priced and represents some excellent South Australian choices, with Rockford's Alicante Bouchet and Basket Press on offer, the first by the glass. Their wine by the glass has plenty of choice and allows pairing with courses easily. This pub offers a reliable, extensive menu that has something for everyone. It is a family favourite for good reason. Bookings essential on weekends. ”
